Business Management Major and Student-Athlete Leverages Skills at Fidelity Investments Internship

Student-athlete and Business Management major Nicholas Ricci ’24 is completing his summer internship at Fidelity Investments, where he’s leveraging the skills he developed both in the classroom and on the field.

Nicholas is interning in Fidelity’s Health and Welfare Domain, where he’s part of the implementation team working on health care benefits and more.

“I work on reviewing documents and making sure they are ready to be sent to clients,” he explained. “I’ve also been creating and designing better ways for our employees to find information about each team in the Health and Welfare domain.”

With offices located in both Merrimack, NH and Boston, MA, Nicholas also has the opportunity to sit in business meetings and connect with other interns and employees within Fidelity.

Nicholas is also a member of the men’s lacrosse team at Dean and the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, which have taught him just as much as the business classes he’s taken. He’s using the knowledge gained from his courses and from the lacrosse field and implementing them in his day-to-day work.

“Being a member of the lacrosse team has taught me about communication, teamwork and how to be a leader,” he said. “I apply those skills every day while working at Fidelity.”

While Nicholas would love the opportunity to continue his career at Fidelity after he graduates in 2024, he’ll value the skills and experience he’s gained this summer no matter what.

“This internship has opened my eyes to the real world and to business,” he said. “From meetings to networking, Fidelity has taught me so much that I will carry with me into my future.”
