Graduates at Dean College Commencement outside Dean Hall

Dean College’s 157th Commencement Exercises celebrating the Class of 2023 will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Dean College, 99 Main Street, Franklin, MA.

The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the front lawn of Dean Hall, along Awpie Way, and will take place rain or shine. Livestream options will be available for graduates, family and friends who are unable to attend in person.

In addition to celebrating the Class of 2023, members of the Class of 1973 will be inducted into the 50th Society as part of an annual Commencement tradition. The College will also award honorary degrees to three recipients for their extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to society. Andrea Kremer, the Emmy Award-winning sports journalist, ESPN’s first female correspondent, and trailblazer in the field of broadcast journalism, will receive a Doctor of Humane Letters; Marty Walsh, the former Mayor of Boston, former U.S. Secretary of Labor, and incoming Executive Director of the National Hockey League Players Association, will receive a Doctor of Public Service; and Rutina Wesley, the award-winning actress known for her roles in “True Blood,” “Queen Sugar” and “The Last of Us,” will receive a Doctor of Arts.

Kremer will also present remarks at the ceremony, while student speaker Enrico Hernandez ’23 will speak on behalf of the Class of 2023.
