Looking to channel your inner Keith Morrison? CRM 205 Criminology: Theories of Crime is the course for you! This 3-credit online course tackles difficult questions like: “Why do people commit crimes?” and “Why do people become victims of crime?”
The class will explore the leading theories used to answer these questions, identify how we measure crime and explain criminal behavior and victimology. The impacts of biology, psychology and sociology, along with theories of deviance, delinquency and criminality will be discussed and evaluated.
Looking at real-life cases, you will examine and discuss crime control policies that prevent, reduce or effectively respond to crime from the perspective of different crime theories.
