Preparing for Finals: Learning Support Services at Dean

With classes wrapping up and finals starting soon, it’s time to finish the semester out strong. And if you need support in the process, Dean has plenty of learning support services to help you succeed. Here are just a few of the options offered by the Morton Family Learning Center and open to all students:

Tutoring

Whether you need support with general study skills or specific classes, peer and professional tutors are here to help. Work with faculty and staff on developing skills and strategies to successfully study for finals, or with fellow students to improve your knowledge and understanding in a wide range of classes and content areas. Berenson Center for Writing, Mathematics and Presentation Excellence

If you’re looking to improve your skills specifically in writing, math or presentations, you’ll find all the support you need through the Berenson Center for Writing, Mathematics and Presentation Excellence. Work with math faculty and peer tutors to prep for your final exams; hone your writing skills for your final papers and projects with faculty, professional tutors and peer tutors; and prep for your final presentations in private practice spaces with help from faculty and staff. Study Labs

Need a quiet space to focus while you get your work done? Participate in Study Labs, which are quiet study spaces for all students. Study Labs are also monitored by staff from the Morton Family Learning Center, who can also help you arrange tutoring or learning support as needed.

Accessibility Services

If you need accommodations, auxiliary aids or other support services, the Office of Accessibility Services provides its full support and a variety of resources and services to qualified students with disabilities.
