Developing a Career Mindset: Dean Career Advantage
Anxious about your post-college plans? At Dean, we prepare you from year one for life after college through Dean Career Advantage (DCA). DCA is a 4-year program that provides you the tools necessary to develop a career mindset and achieve success after graduation.
Beginning year one, you will work one-on-one with your success and career advisor, faculty and staff who will help you identify, navigate and explore your skills and strengths that will lead to success in the job market.
“The Dean Career Advantage is a holistic approach to helping students make the most of their college experience, says Wendy Adler, associate vice president of student success and career planning. “When students graduate, they will have a resume of accomplishments and experiences that will make them as competitive as possible on the job and/or graduate school market. We don’t wait until the senior year; we start from week one.”
The program includes courses to help you improve on important skills like time-management, goal setting, organization, networking and using campus resources. The DCA coursework will continue all four of years, through specific career courses and experiences, as well as general education and major courses. By year four, and upon completion of the program, you will be prepared for today’s competitive job and graduate school market.
