Continuing Studies in 2021 - 2022 – What Are Your Options?
College students who plan on attending Dean College through the School of Continuing Studies (which is set up for non-traditional students who need to attend school while working full-time or those who want to get a leg up in their chosen careers) have plenty of choices for the 2021-2022 school year. Whether you want to attend traditional courses, prefer to learn online from the comfort of your own home, or like the option of taking a blended hybrid course that takes place both online and in the classroom, there are many classes for you to choose from and enroll in.
Bachelor’s Degree Programs
There are some bachelor’s degree programs offered by the Dean College School of Continuing Studies. Students can earn a degree in accounting, business, marketing, human resource management, psychology, cybersecurity studies and liberal arts and studies. The courses for these programs are offered in an array of formats, with the majority falling into the hybrid and online categories. For example, taxation, foundations of business, and legal issues in human resources are all offered in a hybrid format this semester, consisting of some in-person course sessions paired with online lectures and assignments. Many of these courses are offered as accelerated courses, which allow students to learn the information in a shortened span of time.
Associate Degree Programs
Associate degrees are often earned in two years or less, but it all depends on the pace at which the student attends and completes classes. The Dean College School of Continuing Studies offers seven different associate degree programs, including those in accounting, early childhood education, pre-nursing, health sciences, general studies, psychology and business. As far as courses are concerned, during the Fall 2021 semester, students can take classes like human anatomy and physiology and human biology in person, learn critical theory online, or take child growth and development or counseling psychology in a hybrid format.
Certificate Programs
Designed for students who want to further enhance their knowledge and learn additional skills while still in school, the certificate programs at Dean College can be earned on their own or alongside an associate or bachelor’s degree. Either way, with certificates in accounting, business, human resources management, early childhood education, administration of early child education, early childhood education for infants and toddlers, and cybersecurity studies, there are plenty of options for Dean students to choose from.
Students can take courses either throughout the entire semester, or enroll in a shortened form of the course (which contains the same amount of material as the longer ones) that takes place during half of the semester. This allows for a better work-life-school balance.
Online Programs
As far as online programs are concerned, students can earn one of these degrees from Dean College without ever stepping foot on campus. At this time, the only fully online programs are in business and cybersecurity studies. Courses offered during the Fall 2021 semester for these programs include business policy and strategic management, as well as organizational behavior, introduction to cybersecurity, and more.
As you can see, when it comes to continuing studies for the 2021-2022 year, you have plenty of great options to choose from at Dean College.
