About Tuition and Fees

At Dean College, you'll have access to a dynamic curriculum, top-notch learning support, and a diverse and dynamic community. These qualities require a financial investment on your part. To help, we provide over $25 million in scholarships and grants to our students each year.

While financial aid will significantly decrease the cost of attendance for most students, the reality is there will be a portion of the expenses that your family will need to cover. If you need help figuring out how to navigate the cost of your education, the financial advisors in the Center for Student Financial Planning and Services are here to help you every step of the way.

Dean College provides educational opportunity to a wide variety of students with varying academic needs. In order to meet the needs of our students, the college has established several different programs designed to ensure academic success and help students achieve their academic potential.

These programs are fee-based and these fees will be added to your bill if you choose to enroll in one of these programs or if participation in a program is assigned by the Office of Admission as a condition of admission to the college.

  • Cost: $3,600/semester

Academic Coaching

Students may enroll for the semester for as little as one hour per week or for as much as five hours of assistance per week with a learning, writing or math specialist.

College Refund Policies

Students who want to withdraw voluntarily from the College must obtain and complete a departure form from the Robbins Family Center for Advising and Career Planning in order to remain in good standing with the College and receive any appropriate refunds. Federal regulations require that students who withdraw from all classes prior to completing more than 60% of an enrollment term will have their eligibility for federal aid recalculated based on the percentage of the term completed.

Students who withdraw from all classes will be eligible for a refund of tuition and room charges in accordance with the refund schedule below, based on the date the student officially withdraws from the College.

Refund Schedule

Date  Type of Refund
Up to first day of classes 100% of institutional charges less enrollment and housing deposits
Within the first week 80% refunded
Within the second week 60% refunded
Within the third week 40% refunded
Within the fourth week 20% refunded
After the fourth week No refund

Weeks are measured from Tuesday through the following Monday in semesters for which classes begin on a Tuesday. Students who are suspended or dismissed from the College or residence halls will receive no adjustment of charges. Students who received scholarship, grant or loan funds from the College will forfeit the same percentage of their awards as the percentage of fees credited based on the number of weeks that have elapsed. For example, a student who has 80% of institutional charges adjusted will forfeit 80% of any Dean Award, athletic scholarship or other institutional grant awarded by the College.

For questions about the institutional or federal refund policies for students who withdraw or are withdrawn from all courses, or for examples of refund calculations, contact the Center for Student Financial Planning and Services.

Tuition Refund Insurance

Consider tuition insurance to supplement and strengthen our refund policy.

We believe it's important to offer an easy, affordable way to protect the investment your family has made in higher education. That's why Dean College has partnered with GradGuard™ to provide our families with tuition insurance by Allianz Global Assistance featuring special plans and rates not available to the general public.

This coverage expands the scope of our refund policy by ensuring reimbursement for tuition, room and board and other fees for covered withdrawals at any time during the semester. Plans also include Student Life Assistance: a 24-hour emergency hotline that offers students and parents even greater peace of mind.
