Why Dean College?

International students represent 5% of the Dean College student body. Our faculty and staff create a supportive learning environment that makes us an ideal place for your American college experience.

International students - as well as American students - choose Dean for many of the same reasons, such as our Greater Boston location, caring faculty and our outstanding record for transferring students to top U.S. universities

Prestige

Founded in 1865, Dean is fully accredited and has the history, reputation and status students expect from a 150-year-old college. Dean is ranked in the top 25 for Best Regional Colleges North and recognized as a top regional college with the most international students by U.S. News & World Report.

Personal

Our 16:1 student-faculty ratio ensures that students can get help when they need it, and no class at Dean is larger than 40 students.

Location

Just 50 minutes outside of Boston, our students feel safe without being isolated from the activities of a big city. The Commuter Rail - only three blocks from campus - provides frequent train service to the city center.

English Language Flexibility

For students needing English language support, our International Student FOCUS Program allows for more modest English Language Proficiency Test scores and embeds ESL instruction into credit-bearing courses. This reduces the need for remedial work and additional classes.

Unique

Dean awards both four-year bachelor's and two-year associate degrees, providing an educational option that is rare among U.S. colleges. Our associate degree graduates transfer to many of the top U.S. universities

Degree Acceleration

Through careful advising and selection of courses, it is possible for students to complete their associate degree in less than two years or their bachelor’s degree in less than four years. Typically, this requires students to take courses during winter and summer sessions and to enroll in more than the traditional 15 credits each semester. Students work with their advisor to develop a plan to achieve this goal.
