WHAT IS HOUSING LIKE? CAN I PICK MY ROOMMATE?
Visit the the Residence Life page to check out housing options. Most freshmen will live in Ewen, Wallace or Jones Hall. These are traditional-style residence halls with mostly double rooms and a few singles, triples, and quads.
If you would like to request a specific person to be your roommate you will have the opportunity to do so after you submit your housing application. Both roommates need to select each other to be placed together.
WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE?
Smith Dining Center
There are a wide variety of options including a deli, grill, salad bar, pizza, daily special entrees, and more. You will have an unlimited dining plan if you live on campus which means you can go to the dining center as often as you’d like and eat as much as you want throughout the day. The Smith Dining Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends. The dining center is very accommodating if you have food allergies or sensitivities. Boomer’s
Open for lunch and in the evenings until 11:00 p.m., this pub-like option is the place to get what you want when you need that late-night munch, such as wings, subs, salads, burgers, and other grill items. Beverages are also available. Boomer’s is also the place to go to hang out with friends, play pool and video games, watch sports on the big screen TV and more.
Bulldog Beanery
Featuring Starbucks coffee and other beverages, this café also offers pastries, desserts, express sandwiches, and salads.
WHAT IS IT LIKE ON THE WEEKENDS? IS THERE ENOUGH TO DO?
90% of students live on campus and we ensure that there are lots of things to do throughout the week, and especially on the weekend! Hundreds of fun options are offered throughout the year. Our student organizations sponsor programs such as Open Mic, BINGO, magicians, comedian, movies and much more. The Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development also sponsors trips off campus including a student-favorite trip to New York City in December. Show your Bulldog spirit by attending athletic teams’ competitions and watch dance and theatre students perform in productions. Boomer’s Game Room is open every day and offers free pool tables, as well as community use of gaming stations (Nintendo Switch and Playstation). Interested in friendly competition? Join an intramural team such as dodgeball, basketball, futsal, spike ball and more!
CAN STUDENTS HAVE A CAR?
Freshmen are not allowed to have a car on campus. Beginning sophomore year, students can apply for a parking permit. Permits are granted on a space available basis.
