Program Overview
As the demand for skilled healthcare professionals continues to grow, the Health Sciences program at Dean combines a strong foundation in health-related fields with broad-based coursework in the liberal arts. You’ll study anatomy and physiology, microbiology and chemistry, as well as taking courses in composition, psychology, statistics, sociology and ethics. Coursework has been specially designed to facilitate a smooth transition to a four-year degree in health sciences.
You will also focus on physical, cognitive, psychological and social development throughout the human life cycle. You’ll be introduced to health care careers from the very beginning, you’ll use case studies to apply what you’re learning to real health care environments and you’ll gain a solid foundation in the allied health field.

Beyond the Classroom
Immerse yourself in real-world learning in and out of the classroom.Gain hands-on experience in labs using our synthetic cadaver, and participate in student-led programs and initiatives on campus. You’ll also have the chance to learn from allied health practitioners who visit campus to answer questions, offer career advice and provide professional connections.
When you graduate, you’ll be ready to continue your education with a bachelor’s degree at Dean College or another four-year institution. And you’ll prepare to launch a rewarding career in health education, public health, medical office management, health care administration, medical record administration, health information and beyond. Graduates from bachelor’s degree programs can also choose to pursue an advanced degree in the applied health sciences, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician’s assistant, pharmaceutical school and more.
